A limited liability company along with two private investors has closed on a 40.26-acre property located on Bermont Road in Charlotte County. The transaction totaled $2.3 million, according to public records. The group plans to use the land to build a new residential development called Calusa Creek, which will sit directly next to the existing neighborhood of the same name.

The purchase marks an expansion of the Calusa Creek community, which already features single-family homes in the area. The newly acquired tract will allow developers to add more housing units to the master plan.
