Kirkland & Ellis has brought on Seth Niedermayer as a partner in its real estate group, strengthening a practice that handles some of the largest property transactions in the country.
Niedermayer joins the firm after spending more than ten years at HSF Kramer, where he built a reputation for guiding clients through complex deals. His work has covered acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures, and financing arrangements across a range of property types. He has represented private equity firms, developers, and institutional investors in transactions that often involve multiple jurisdictions and layered capital structures.
The move reflects continued demand for legal talent in commercial real estate, a sector that has shifted considerably in recent years. Rising interest rates, changing office usage, and a surge of interest in industrial and data center properties have pushed clients to seek counsel who understand both the financial and operational sides of a deal. Firms have responded by competing for experienced partners who can manage large portfolios and navigate negotiations that stretch across months.
At Kirkland, Niedermayer will work alongside a team that regularly advises on high-profile real estate matters, including mergers involving publicly traded property companies and large-scale development projects. His background in both domestic and cross-border transactions is expected to complement the group's existing strengths.
Kirkland has expanded its real estate practice steadily, adding partners in several major markets as client needs grow. The firm has not disclosed further details about the hire or specific client assignments Niedermayer will take on.
