Margaret Anadu, a key figure who helped build the real estate arm of Vistria Group, has left the firm and started her own consultancy. Anadu, who co-founded Vistria's real estate group, departed in April. Her exit marks a significant shift for the investment firm, which focuses on sectors like education, healthcare, and housing.
Anadu's new venture, which she has not yet named publicly, will provide strategic advisory services to real estate companies and investors. Sources close to the matter say she plans to focus on affordable housing and community development, areas where she built a strong reputation during her tenure at Vistria and previously at Goldman Sachs. At Goldman, she led the firm's urban investment group and oversaw billions in community development projects.
Vistria confirmed her departure in a brief statement, thanking her for her contributions. The firm said it will continue its real estate investment strategy under its existing team. Anadu's move comes as many senior executives in private equity are spinning off to launch their own platforms, seeking more autonomy or focusing on niche markets. Her consultancy is expected to target institutional clients looking for expertise in impact-oriented real estate deals.
