Real estate mogul Grant Cardone is pitching a new investment strategy that combines rental property income with Bitcoin exposure, but gold advocate Peter Schiff is calling it a dangerous gamble. Schiff, a longtime critic of cryptocurrency, issued a sharp warning to real estate investors who might be tempted by Cardone's dual-asset approach.
Cardone's latest offering asks investors to bet on two things at once: steady cash flow from rental properties and the volatile price swings of Bitcoin. Schiff sees that as the core problem. He argues that mixing a stable, tangible asset like real estate with a speculative digital currency creates unnecessary risk. In Schiff's view, Bitcoin's unpredictable nature could wipe out any gains from rental income, especially during a market downturn.
Schiff has built his reputation on defending gold as the ultimate store of value. He warns that Cardone's strategy is not diversification but rather a way to lure investors into a high-risk bet disguised as a balanced portfolio. Real estate, Schiff says, already offers inflation protection and passive income without needing to tie it to a cryptocurrency that has no intrinsic value.
Cardone, known for his aggressive sales tactics and social media presence, has not directly responded to Schiff's critique. But his supporters argue that Bitcoin's long-term growth potential justifies the risk. The clash highlights a growing divide in the investment world: old-guard asset defenders versus a new generation willing to pair traditional holdings with digital assets. For now, Schiff's warning stands as a caution to anyone tempted by the promise of double returns.
