Open house Thursday for planned data centers, substation near Brambleton

The Brambleton Community Association and data center developer STACK Infrastructure are hosting an open house this week regarding an incoming data center and proposed substation located near the intersection of Evergreen Mills Road and Creighton Road. The session is intended to give residents a chance to review the plans and ask questions directly to the project team.

The open house is scheduled for Thursday evening and will run for several hours, with staff on hand to walk through site layouts and answer concerns about traffic, noise, and visual impact. The proposed substation would support the data center campus and connect it to the regional power grid.

Residents have raised questions about how the facility will affect nearby neighborhoods, including increased truck traffic during construction and the long term appearance of the substation from surrounding roads. Project representatives say the design includes screening and setback measures intended to reduce visibility from homes.

County planning staff are expected to attend as well, though no formal vote or presentation is planned. Instead, the format is meant to be informal, with display boards and one on one conversations rather than a scheduled briefing.

Those who cannot attend can still submit comments to the community association before the end of the month. Feedback gathered at the open house will be compiled and shared with the county as part of the review process.
