Razorback football star, real estate developer Jim Lindsey has died

Lindsey was a two-sport athlete for the Razorbacks, playing both football and baseball in the early 1960s. As a running back, he helped lead the football team to a Southwest Conference championship and a victory in the 1965 Cotton Bowl. His performance on the field earned him a spot in the Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame.

After college, Lindsey was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings, where he played for several seasons. Following his NFL career, he returned to Arkansas and built a highly successful real estate development company. He became a major figure in the state's business community, overseeing residential and commercial projects across the region.

Beyond his business success, Lindsey was known for his philanthropy. He donated generously to the University of Arkansas, including significant contributions to the athletic department and the Razorback Foundation. He also supported various local charities and community initiatives in Fayetteville and throughout northwest Arkansas.

A statement from his family described him as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who remained deeply connected to his alma mater and his community. Funeral arrangements are pending.
