CarbonAI has raised $12 million in a funding round led by Cowboy Ventures. Timber Grove Ventures, Bling Capital, and Max Ventures also participated in the round. The company plans to use the capital to expand its agentic AI platform designed specifically for commercial real estate lending.
The platform aims to automate complex workflows that have long relied on manual review and fragmented data sources. In commercial real estate lending, professionals often juggle property records, financial statements, lease agreements, and market reports. CarbonAI's agents are built to handle these tasks by pulling information from multiple documents, flagging inconsistencies, and preparing summaries that support underwriting decisions.
The company says its technology reduces the time spent on repetitive analysis, allowing lenders to focus on risk assessment and client relationships. The new funding will support hiring across engineering and customer success, along with further development of the platform's decision-making capabilities.
Investors pointed to the size of the commercial real estate debt market and the slow pace of technological adoption as key reasons for backing the startup. CarbonAI joins a growing group of companies applying AI agents to specialized industries where domain knowledge and data accuracy matter. The company has not disclosed how many customers it currently serves.
