GLEN BURNIE, Maryland - Glen Burnie Bancorp, the holding company that owns The Bank of Glen Burnie, has appointed John Stamato to its board of directors. Stamato brings years of experience in local real estate development and business leadership to the role.
Stamato currently serves as president of Stamato Development Corporation, a firm he has led for more than two decades. His work in the region has focused on residential and commercial projects, with an emphasis on community-centered planning. He is also active in several local business organizations and has served on advisory boards for economic development initiatives in Anne Arundel County.
Bank officials said Stamato's appointment reflects the company's commitment to keeping strong local voices at the table. His understanding of the area's housing market and commercial growth patterns is expected to provide useful perspective as the bank continues to serve families and small businesses.
Stamato fills a seat left open after a recent retirement from the board. His term begins immediately, and he will also join the bank's loan committee. In a statement, Stamato said he looks forward to helping guide the institution through a period of steady expansion while maintaining its community focus.
Glen Burnie Bancorp operates several branches across the greater Baltimore area. The company has emphasized relationship banking and local decision-making as key parts of its strategy.
